I first heard it on Sage Francis’ Sick of Waging War and came across it again recently on the Indie Feed Podcast.

Hot off the heels of me whining like a little girl that I missed this year’s Stencil Festival, my sister sent me this v/cool wired article on a v/cool “reverse graffiti” artist – check it.

I’ve caught 3 of Rives’ performances at TED. Love them, just so creative and original. My sister has asked me what I think good poetry is. I think these are an excellent example.

Move over dodgy Simpsons avatar, Stephen Price has immortalised me in a cartoon illustration.

Cool, eh?

I decided to try my hand at stenciling.
Pretty crappy first attempt but I thought I’d subject you to it in any case.
If you really wanna be inspired check out Satta’s site – stenc-o-rama.com, the guy is amazing.

How awesome is this.
Ever heard of a kinetic sculpture? It’s art powered by natural elements.
Check out this video.
Purely powered by wind. How awesome is that.
I love this line [paraphrasing] “part of me is an artist who wants to sculpt the earth that surrounds us and give it shape”.
I love the concept of giving visuals to things which we can not normally see – elements such as sound, wind, light etc.

Cause all the cool kids are doing it, a mate and I went to the Stencil Festival in Sydney.
Very cool, I’d highly recommend people go to next years festival.
I love the grit of urban art and stencil doesn’t disappoint.
I was also pleasantly surprised that one of the festival organisers was big into Tom Waits. Tom Waits in stencil art, now that would be cool! – There’s hint number 2, Satta :-)
TPN also has a good video from the Melbourne festival.
