Sucks/Rocks

Came across a cute website today, sucks-rocks.com.

What is Sucks/Rocks:

When you enter a search term, sucks/rocks searches the web for several positive and negative phrases using that term. The score is the fraction of positive results to the sum of positive and negative results, normalized to 10.

The negative phrases are: X sucks, X is lame, X is crap, I hate X.

The positive phrases are: X rocks, X is sweet, X is awesome, I love X.

Have a play.

Here are two sample searches which I just did:

3style

At BarCamp, I met Laurence, the guy behind the 3style.

3style? 3style ain’t no country I never heard of, you say?

I had a play with it and it rocks!

Very responsive and intuitive. I’m gonna be first in line as these things roll off the production line.

BarCamp rocked (and the AIMIAs was ok too)

March 3rd, 2007 delicategenius 3 comments

Being the social butterfly that I am, I did two social events this weekend that contrasted significantly.

Friday night was the AIMIA awards – red carpets, cocktail dress and uppity trendy types. Very groovy and very not geek. None the less, it was a decent event.

Today I went to BarCamp. I’ve been talking about BarCamp for a while and it exceeded expectations.

It turned out to be a very cool gathering of tech geeks from all walks who just wanted to share in the goodness of geekdome. There was an awesome vibe of openness and I think everyone felt the same.

Check out this guy for proof.

Can’t wait for BarCamp Sydney 2!

Flickr group here.

And finally, my buddy Nick (have we hit “buddy” stage Nick?) has some links to videos he shot on the day.
