MIX 08 Keynote
Heaps and heaps of buzz around todays keynote. There’s plenty of info on it around the blogosphere so go check it out.
Highlights for me:
- The amazing DeepZoom silverlight demo for hard rock – check it out.
- Silverlight on mobile (WM6 and Nokia S60, S40 and tablet)
- The preview of the olympics site. The thing looked amazing. You’re gonna have to wait for the VOD of the webcast to come online to see it.
- Strategic partnership with Move Networks. We don’t know Move all that well in Oz but they are the streaming technology that guys like NBC and ABC use for their catchup TV. We will be supporting their adaptive stream technology from within silverlight. v/v/v/cool.
- Shader effects in WPF.
I don’t have much time to blog in detail but I’m fully energised about the stuff we’re doing and can’t wait to do play with technology! Tis a good day to be in the Microsoft ecosystem.

it would all great if Silverlight could actually get video/ audio in sync. I have now tried this on a number of mac’s with both Firefox and Safari and audio/ video sync is always a problem.
sometimes is 3 or 4 frames sometimes it’s a full second.
tom, somehow this is a unique problem to you. I’ve tried it on several macs and windows pcs and they all work fine. wonder what the consistency might be on your end?
