Screencast: IE8 Accelerators in 3 minutes
Part 2 in my series of IE8 3 minute webcasts, I wanted to tackle Accelerators.
Overall all, you’re looking at an XML manifest file which describes the accelerator, a 320×240 page which renders in the Accelerator window, and a call to window.external.addToFavoritesBar to add the Accelerator – piece of cake, right?
Check it …
Ohh, and for the more detailed lowdown on building Accelerators, check out the MSDN article.

Two more screencasts: Building IE8 Accelerators in 3 minutes http://bit.ly/g3CYE +Building IE8 Search in 3 minutes http://bit.ly/mgVIO
Nice intro to developing Accelerators. See: http://bit.ly/vJKbW
For readers who use Firefox and are new to IE8, I wanted your readers to be aware that Firefox has a version of Accelerators too, it is called “KALLOUT – Accelerators for Firefox” It’s available as a free add-on through Firefox. See: http://bit.ly/vJKbW
I believe the accelerators you mention and build will actually work directly with KallOut-Accelerators for Firefox so users can stick with Firefox if they want and still get the benefits of the community-developed accelerators.
